Make your own Holiday Beauty Bag for Christmas! Tips for the Teen on a Budget

For Christmas I decided to do something different and something totally fabulous! I wanted to give my friends something cute and pretty and I wanted to do it in a cute way, so I decide to make my own beauty bags! This is a very cheap and cute way of 'wrapping' your friends Christmas presents. Its perfect for the unemployed teen like myself that has a very limited budget! I got everything from the Dollar Tree and Ulta :-)
What to put in your beauty bag:
1. Mini eyeshadow palette ($1-$5): Giving your friends a new eyeshadow palette with a range of fabulous colors will make them squeal with delight!
2. Lipgloss ($5): I got my friends the perfect lipgloss for their skin tone from Ulta, which has a wide array of colors.
3. Colorful eyeliner ($8): Bought it from Ulta. They have tons of options!
4. Nail polish($1): The Dollar Store has some cute nail polish that you have to include in your beauty bag!
5. Mascara: ($1-$20): You can either buy some mascara from the Dollar store or Ulta. Both have some great deals!

              And now for the bag...

You can buy the bag at any size, it really depends on the amount of beauty items you want to give to your friends/family. I got all of mine from the Dollar store and they are to die for! They are so adorable.
In the end, just be creative and you can really put ANYTHING in your beauty bag! :-)
Happy shopping!

Tips for the Unemployed Teenager: How to Score the Interview

In today's economy its extremely hard for anyone to find a job, especially for us teens. But have no fear, I have some great tips for scoring that interview, and getting the job! Keep reading.

First, call the business that you applied to three days after you applied. This gives the hiring manager a little time to review your application. When you reach the third day, call that business and ask to speak to the manager/hiring manager. Let them know your name and tell them you submitted an application and wanted to know if they are interviewing anytime soon. Be as direct as you can. It lets them know you want the job. If they say 'Yes! We are interviewing, what time would you want to come in?' Or 'Can you come in....' (says certain time and day), then make sure you already have a day in mind so you are not babbling like an idiot. It will go a lot smoother if you are prepared!

Now you have gotten the interview scheduled and you're almost there! Before you go into the interview make sure you have a folder with a copy of your resume. This is important because your interviewer will be impressed that you came prepared. I remember one time I forgot my resume at an interview, and when the manager asked if I had a resume I was embarrassed because I knew I looked bad and unprepared. Another thing to make sure of is that you look clean and professional. Take this job interview seriously!

During the interview, be calm and collected. If you are nervous act like you aren't and you and the interviewer will believe it! Just remember that you are selling yourself to the manager, and you want to stand out from the rest! Make sure you go in believing you are the best person for this job, and you will know its true!

Good luck!

Daily Makeup Look!

GOLDEN DAILY MAKEUP LOOK:

Want to know how to get this gorgeous golden look? It's perfect for a daily look but has a little bit of color!

1. Apply BB cream with a flat foundation brush!
2. Apply concealer below and on your eyelid.

3. Apply a light beige color all over your lid.

4. Apply a baked gold shadow to your crease. This one from Sephora + Pantone Universe (Radiant Cut Shadow palette) is amazing and highly pigmented!

5. Apply your bronzed (preferably a lighter bronzer) to your eyelid below the crease color. BLEND IN.

6. Apply a green or blue eyeliner to your waterline! This looks fantastic with any eye color!

7. Put on a black liquid eyeliner on your top lashes. Wing it out. :)

8. Fill in your brows. I just lightly filled in the tail of my eyebrow.

9. So I decided to try a new mascara called "They're Real!" By Benefit. I absolutely love it and it made my lashes so much longer.

10. FINISHED. It's just a very simple yet beautiful everyday look! I love it and often wear it, minus the green eyeliner. I just thought that was a fun twist. You can also add a lipgloss as well :)

TGIF: My week in photos!

So today I decided that I will start sharing my weekly/daily pictures with you. These explain what has happened in my life this week. Hope you enjoy!
Cupcakes are perfect for the holidays! I decided to go into this cute cupcake shop and get one for my best friend. Hope she likes this yummy treat!

Not the best quality photo but this is my Dad's cat. Yeah this happened.

Painting stores are so much fun! I went to one this week and painted a sock monkey. I'm pretty proud of this masterpiece.

Oh photobooth, I love you.
Me, my sister, and Sarah.

Awkward selfie with my dad in the background.

For my birthday we went to a Mexican restaurant. They sang the Spanish birthday song to me while placing a sombrero on my head. This is my excited face.

Got this from Lea Michelle's Facebook page! I thought it properly symbolized my want to go to New York<3

JOURNAL ENTRY: Travel Plans

TRAVEL PLANS:

So far I have only seen a portion of the world, but I have big plans for the future. Tucked away deep in the crevices of my room is a jar, and that jar is almost completely full of coins and dollars. This jar is full of money that I want to use on a trip somewhere, and I have chosen to go to New York City. I have been having dreams of going to the big city for years now, and I have already saved up a bit to make that dream become reality. New York is the city of dreams, the city where things happen! I may have unrealistic expectations about it, but that does not keep me from wanting to go there and see what the big hub bub is about. I want to explore central park, go see a Broadway show, and have Breakfast at Tiffany's. All I want is one perfect week in New York City. I would love to buy some nice clothes from the shopping district there and do a haul for you guys! That's another goal of mine. If I start making youtube videos further down the line I will definitely document my adventures in New York City.
Do you not see the appeal here?

I am planning on making it to NYC next year for my eighteenth birthday. I can just imagine it: me on a plan, legal age, wearing some fashionable outfit; ready to take on New York. It would be a dream come true. One of the stops I want to make there is going to Michelle Phan's new "em" store! That would be fantastic. She has always been such an inspiration of mine and I would love to see the incredible work she has done to have her own makeup line and shop! And its in New York, which makes it that much cooler.

A bagel and coffee would taste so much better in front of this store!
